Conergy completes 39MW of new solar plants for Primrose Solar

Conergy has announced the completion of a portfolio of four solar farms in the UK totalling 39MW in installed capacity
Conergy completes 39MW of new solar plants for Primrose Solar

The projects began construction at the end of 2013 and continued through the foul winter weather in January and February that managed to disrupt many other solar farm projects.

The solar farms are located close to Great Yarmouth (14MW), Cardiff (7MW) and in Dorset (18MW). They were connected to the grid at the end of March and are now generating enough clean energy to power 12,000 UK homes. They should also cut the country’s carbon emissions by around 344,000 tonnes over the next 20 years.

“Building these large projects was a challenging task, particularly given the bad weather that we have had this winter” said Giles Clark, CEO of Primrose Solar. “We are very pleased to work with Conergy, which has been outstanding in delivering on time and in the most difficult conditions.”

Connergy developed the facilities in partnership with Camborne Energy which was responsible for identifying the sites and obtaining planning permissions and grid connections. Connery meanwhile funded the development cost, managed the development process and built the solar farms. The company is also responsible for ongoing maintenance on behalf of owners Primrose Solar.
