Although the Rural Utilities Service must issue its approval of the contract and issue its Finding of No Significant Impact for the project prior to full effectiveness of the contract, Gemma Power Systems has received a limited release to start critical planning and early engineering activities with a full release expected no later than Spring 2012.

The facility located near Woodville, will use woodchips and waste timber to generate nearly 50 MW of electricity after completion in December 2014.
Connecticut-based Gemma Power Systems claims to have installed over 12 GW of gas and oil-fired combined cycle plants, wood/coal-fired plants, waste-to-energy plants and wind plants. It also designs and constructs biofuel processing plants with a combined installed capacity of 350 million gallons a year.
