With Scotland rapidly becoming one of the in markets for offshore wind and marine energy, it is no wonder that yet another company linked to the North Sea oil and gas industry has moved into renewables. The Thurso-based engineering company, Calder Engineering, has successfully diversified into the offshore wind industry with support from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).

AWS Ocean Energy is one such company, receiving additional funding support to develop its new wave energy device.
