The official award ceremony for the ‘Energy Transition Award‘ will be held on June 1st, 2017, honouring utility companies for their commitment to the energy transition. The stage for the ceremony will be the Intersolar Europe solar trade fair where the awards will be presented as part of the event’s ‘Smart Renewable Energy Forum’. The award categories comprise electricity, heating, mobility, energy efficiency and energy transition.
EuPD Research, based in Bonn, analysed nearly all 1,300 German utilities, between the beginning of February and mid-April of this year, based on a newly developed quality model. The project is unique in Germany and shows the energy transition has reached the German utility companies in all its various aspects.
“The utilities have realised that the energy transition opens up many possibilities to occupy new business areas” said project manager Dr Martin Ammon.
The project initiators Intersolar Europe, DCTI Deutsches CleanTech Institut, and EuPD Research will announce the finalists for the award presentation on June 1st.
