SOLAR BALKANS 2011
Thursday, 14 April 2011
Major actors in solar business from the Balkans and international solar industry will meet at Rising Opportunities “SOLAR BALKANS 2011” – The 1st Solar Business Forum for Balkans, to be held on 14 and 15 April 2011 in Sofia, Bulgaria to get together and explore possibilities for mutually beneficial cooperation in the solar business.

This purely business-to-business initiative held on the occasion of the 7th South East European EE & RES Congress and Exhibition is organised on the initiative of BPVA (Bulgarian Photovoltaic Industry Association) in cooperation with SolarPVconsulting, and with the organisational support of Via Expo.

“SOLAR BALKANS 2011 will give an excellent opportunity to accelerate and boost the solar market development in the Balkans making a link between international industry and investors from all over the world and will help to create synergies between International and Balkan Solar businesses with the mutual benefits”- says Tomasz Slusarz, CEO of SolarPVconsulting, Program Coordinator.

Major players from the region such as Heliosphera, Bisol, SunService or Solarpro as well as international companies such as Satcon Technology, Canadian Solar, BP Solar, Martifer Solar, MAG, Upsolar, Jinko Solar have already confirmed their attendance.

"The interest in Renewable Energy and in specific PV has been steadily growing for a number of years in the Balkan region. This region will continue to develop, and present opportunities for local and international businesses. A strong will to become less depended on fossil fuels is driving the market development." adds Peter Deege, Managing Director EMEA at Satcon Technology a member of the Program Committee.

Solar Balkans 2011 will also be a very important event for Bulgaria itself. “We believe that New FIT law, which should introduce fixed rates of FIT, will remove the biggest bottleneck in the development of the Bulgarian market – financial uncertainty” - says Chairman of BPVA and Chairman of Solar Balkans.

“We are extremely happy to have an opportunity to exchange our experience with colleagues from Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, Slovenia, Macedonia, Serbia and other Balkan countries. We also count on real exchange with the worldwide industry and as SolarPV.TV will transmit all the panel discussions to the global solar industry, it will give to the event a real international dimension” adds Alexander Zachariou, President of HELAPCO, Vice-Chairman of the forum.

Business to business opportunities – not only the forum

Solar Balkans 2011 is all about finding new business opportunities and making business itself.

The business-to-business facility will include a Networking Business Exchange and event will also feature the Solar Bowling Party Reception which is exactly about networking in the friendly atmosphere.

Solart Balkans 2011 will be held on 14-15 April 2011 at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia (Bulgaria).
