RenewableUK International Small Wind 2011
Tuesday, 05 April 2011
Gateshead (UK) Around 700 people are expected to attend RenewableUK

The 2010 International Small Wind Conference and Exhibition attracted over 650 delegates and confirmed what many have long suspected - the global market potential is fast expanding, the technology is fast maturing, and that customers from across the domestic, commercial and agricultural sectors are rapidly awakening to the prospect of generating their own energy from wind power. In short, small wind systems are coming of age.

A high calibre of speakers from across the globe shared their latest insights with policy makers, manufacturers, installers, innovators, technology experts and industry stakeholders with subsequent discussions and debate reinforcing the value of international collaboration at an exciting time for the small wind system sector. While educational seminars imparted invaluable information and advice to enthusiastic audiences of farmers and planners, a thriving exhibition filled with technology demonstration equipment satisfied the curious and convinced the many visitors that generating their own energy was not just a possibility, but realistic opportunity to cut bills, cut carbon emissions, and make money.

This year's conference will address the latest international policy and technical developments in small wind systems. The programme is designed by the RenewableUK Small Wind System Strategy Group, ensuring the most up to date and topical content possible. Meanwhile, up to 50 companies active in the sector will be on display at the accompanying exhibition.

Two side events will also be held for farmers, landowners and members of the public:

Day 1, Tuesday 5 April, 14.00-15.30 – Farming Wind Energy

This educational seminar will introduce wind energy to the agricultural community, farmers, land owners or indeed anyone interested in benefiting from wind energy and financial incentives such as “Feed-In Tariffs”. RenewableUK will bring together farming experts, wind energy experts, and current owners of small wind systems to share their knowledge, advice, and experiences in generating energy from wind.

Day 2, Wednesday 6 April, 14.00-15.30 – Customer Journey

Industry's experts will lead those interested in generating their own clean energy from wind through the key steps of a customer journey, from assessing the wind resource on a site through to enjoying the benefits of ‘‘Feed-in Tariffs’’.
