Ence Receives First Boiler Components for New Biomass Plant

Ence Energia y Celulosa has received the first batch of boiler components for its new biomass plant being built in Puertollano, Spain. The delivery consisted of the pressure modules for the boiler. GBS supervised the process of transportation of the parts to Puertollano from its facilities in Chiclana de la Frontera, where these components are being built.

The boiler is a key component of the new Ence plant in Puertollano, where biomass will be converted into electrical energy.

Ence has already completed 34 percent of the construction on the plant.

It is expected that the plant will be operational in the first quarter of 2020. The company estimates its investment in this project exceeds €90 million ($103.18 million).

The 46 MW biomass power generation plant, being built in the facilities of the former Elcogás, is an example of a transition from a fossil fuel to renewable energy, maintaining quality industrial employment and promoting rural employment, thanks to the use of agroforestry biomass as fuel from the area near the town of La Mancha.
