Acciona Energy already started another solar electric thermal plant, called Nevada Solar One and totalling an impressive 64 MW.
The company now plans a plant three times as big (200 MW) that should be completed in the next three years, according to Mr Peter Duprey, CEO of Acciona Energy. This new plant will be built in New Mexico, Arizona or Nevada.
According to Mr Duprey, solar electric thermal will overtake solar PV in installed capacity in ten years time, partly due to lower costs (about 15 dollar cents per kWh).
