Join Digital Utilities Europe 2017 and hear from Roland Stader, Head of Energy Automation, Telecommunications and IT of Stadtwerke Konstanz on "Smart Meter Rollout in Germany and Challenges for Utilities".
Stader is responsible for building Fiber optic Networks (FTTH) as well as regional backbones, covering services like internet, telephony, TV, IPTV and cloud-services. Hereby, Energy Automation is an essential focus, which is strongly related on topics such as Smart Metering, Smart Grid and energy efficiencies aspects, where he also is responsible for several research projects. Also responsibility for the IT department, the so called “digital transformation” is always in mind.
Stader 's presentation "Smart Meter Rollout in Germany and Challenges for Utilities," will look at:
• German approach to smart metering is quite unique and complex. Essential regulations, constraints and some commercial aspects will be presented, as they apply to a regional DSO
• Focus on a higher level of the value chain, based on Smart-Meter-Infrastructure
• Energy efficient collaboration of energy producers and consumers - where all energy meters as well as control devices are connected to a Home gateway and collaborating via centralised Servers.
