Nikola Produces 35 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Trucks For Sale to U.S. And Canada Customers

Nikola Corporation, a global leader in zero-emissions transportation and energy supply and infrastructure solutions, via the HYLA brand, in 2023 produced 42 and wholesaled 35 Class 8 Nikola hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).

Bunker One and Color Line Collaborate on Switch to Biofuel

For almost one month, Bunker One has supplied B100 biofuel to Color Line’s SuperSpeed 1 and 2 ferries travelling between Hirtshals in Denmark and Larvik and Kristiansand in Norway. With this switch to biofuel, Color Line’s two passenger ferries have reduced CO2 emissions by approximately 85% on average on the biofuel quantities used.

Pacolet Milliken, a sustainability-focused, family-owned investment firm, announced has acquired 100% of Piedmont Green Power from an affiliate of Atlantic Power & Utilities. Piedmont is a 55 MW biomass-fired power plant located in Barnesville, Georgia. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Vattenfall and Renewi, a leading waste-to-product company, have started a sustainable new partnership. Vattenfall will purchase more than 7.5 million m3 of green gas annually from Renewi. The green gas made from food waste is added to the regular Dutch gas network, where it mixes with the natural gas and thus makes the gas mix more sustainable.

A team made up of research personnel from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) has developed a technology for the production of hydrogen under ambient conditions from formic acid, using it as a liquid hydrogen-carrying compound. This offers a solution to the safe, sustainable and economical transportation and storage of hydrogen of the future. The results have been registered for patent protection and recently published in the Journal of Materials Chemistry A.
