Ameresco to Build Biofuel Facility on Maui

Ameresco, Inc. announced its award from Hawaiian Electric Company for the proposed ‘Ūkiu Energy 40-megawatt (MW) renewable energy site in Maui. This innovative facility will add critical grid reliability to the island and move Hawaii closer to its clean energy goals, including the state’s commitment to achieving 100% renewable electricity and carbon neutrality by 2045.

Government urged to slash the tax on renewable liquid heating fuels

UK heating oil distributor WCF is supporting calls for the Chancellor to slash the tax on renewable liquid heating fuels such as Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), ahead of the Spring Budget on March 6. WCF is urging the Government to make fuels such as Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) more accessible and affordable for an estimated four million people who rely on off-grid heating.

Newly-released data from the American Biogas Council (ABC) indicates that 2023 was the third year of record growth across the U.S. biogas industry,with nearly 100 new projects coming online last year— representing $1.8 billion in capital investments. ABC expects this growth to continue into 2024, with more than 100 new projects already projected to go into operation this year.

Fortis Energy reported it has launched the 3-MW Dolovo Biogas Power Plant in Serbia.
