TotalEnergies Signs a Deal with Quatra to Secure Feedstock for its Biorefineries

TotalEnergies and Quatra, the European market leader in the collection and recycling of used cooking oil, have signed a 15-year agreement beginning in 2026, for the supply of 60,000 tons a year of European used cooking oil to TotalEnergies’ biorefineries. This deal contributes to secure the feedstock to produce biodiesel and sustainable aviation fuel.

ZeroAvia announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Loganair to work towards potential adoption of hydrogen-electric engines to support zero-emission flights. ZeroAvia is advancing certification of a 600kW hydrogen-electric powertrain for 10-20 seat aircraft with the UK’s CAA.

The American Biogas Council reports, as of June 2025, there are 471 biogas capture systems in operation at U.S. dairy farms, double the number active at the end of 2020. The past five years has not only been a period of unprecedented growth, but also one of evolution. At the end of 2020, tank-based digesters represented 24% of all anaerobic digestion facilities, with covered lagoons representing the remaining 76%. Fast forward to today and covered lagoons now account for 43% of all facilities.
