American Biogas Council Announces Eight Fastest Growing Biogas Businesses

The American Biogas Council has announced the eight fastest growing biogas businesses in the US: DMT, DVO, Inc., Envitec Biogas, Evonik, Greenlane Biogas, Nacelle, Paques Environmental Technologies, and PlanET Biogas. Results were determined by gross revenue growth from 2019 to 2020. Collectively, revenue from the fastest eight grew by more than 300%.

Following several years of research and development MOL has stepped up the value chain and has become a biofuel producer, through the realization of an investment in the Danube Refinery. Bio feedstock will be co-processed together with fossil materials increasing the renewable share of fuels and reducing up to 200,000 tons /year CO2 emission without negatively affecting fuel quality.

WELTEC BIOPOWER recently commissioned a biogas plant near Turku in southwestern Finland. This region is characterised by livestock farms and therefore the 250-kW plant runs entirely on liquid manure. The energy plant belongs to a group of three pig farmers. In this project, WELTEC will be working with its long-standing Finnish partner Doranova.

Höegh Autoliners Completes its First Carbon Neutral Voyage

On March 19, Höegh Autoliners accelerated its decarbonization efforts successfully completing its first carbon neutral voyage from Europe to South Africa. During this voyage the New Horizon vessel Höegh Trigger ran on advanced biofuels meeting the highest sustainability standards. The successful trial voyage showed that biofuel is a viable choice for vessels in the fleet.

DNV has generated and analyzed 20,000 years of plausible weather and power production for ISO New England (ISO-NE). With the completion of this project, which began at the end of 2019, ISO-NE can now understand the magnitude, frequency and duration of events like cold snaps or heat waves which drive regional load, as well as their correlation to wind and solar lulls as they pertain to current and future variable energy resources like wind and solar energy plants.
