Langh Ship Switches to Biofuel on its Container Vessel

After discussions between Langh Ship and the Dutch chartering Samskip on how to further reduce the environmental impact of its vessels, they agreed to switch to biofuel operations for the Langh Ship-owned 750 TEU container vessel Edith in January 2023. Biofuels are a key component in Samskip’s strategy for decarbonizing its shipping activities. Edith is currently employed on a shortsea liner service between the Netherlands and the UK.

H-Tec Systems to deliver electrolyser to joint venture for green production of liquid biogas

H-Tec Systems is delivering PEM electrolysers to a Norwegian-Danish joint venture between Norwegian Hydrogen and energy entrepreneur Jens Peter Lunden, for an innovative cooperation in wind power, electrolysis and liquid biogas. Norwegian Hydrogen and Jens Peter Lunden have established a 50/50 joint venture under the name Grøn Brint ApS.

On Friday March 17, the intermunicipal environmental company EcoWerf in Leuven, Belgium, officially opened its new anaerobic digestion plant. Besides producing 20.000 tons of valuable compost from (source separated) biowaste every year, EcoWerf will start producing biogas from the same biowaste.

This funding will help support the Department’s research into the next generation of sustainable, cost-effective bioproducts and bioenergy from domestic biomass resources, which is critical to reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions, ensuring future energy security, and creating new economic opportunities in rural areas. Since their inception, the BRCs have made groundbreaking scientific contributions to and advancements in biotechnology that are helping to expand the diversity of reliable domestic clean energy sources and ensuring the United States reaches President Biden’s ambitious goal of net-zero emissions economy by 2050.
