2020 Utility-Scale Solar Goal Reached Early

The Trump administration announced yesterday the Obama-era SunShot Initiative 2020, which set ambitious goals to make grid-connected solar electricity market-competitive with other forms of energy, has been met three years ahead of schedule. This is largely due to rapid cost declines in solar photovoltaic hardware, the average price of utility-scale solar is now 6 cents per kWh.
