Venture Global Launches Carbon Capture and Sequestration Project

Venture Global LNG has plans to capture and sequester carbon at its Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines LNG facilities. Having concluded a comprehensive engineering and geotechnical analysis, the company is launching, subject only to regulatory approvals, a shovel-ready carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) project, compressing CO2 at its sites and then transporting the CO2 and injecting it deep into subsurface saline aquifers where it will be permanently stored. 

Seabased will Install Utility-Scale Wave Energy Park in France

In the race to commercialize wave energy, the Brittany region in France may plant a flag as home to Europe’s first utility scale commercial wave energy park. With the support of the region, Seabased, a wave energy company led by French CEO Laurent Albert, is planning to build a 10 MW wave power park in Audierne Bay.

Bright Biomethane Partners with Eneraque to Build Biomehtane-to-Grid Facility

Partnering with the Australian owned and operated clean energy infrastructure and equipment provider Eneraque, Bright will build its first biogas upgrader in Australia for energy company Jemena at the Sydney Malabar wastewater treatment site. Biogas from Sydney Water will be purified to biomethane for distribution through the grid. The Malabar Biomethane Project is expected to be completed in 2022 and is claimed to be ‘Australia’s first’ biomethane gas grid injection project.

Duke Energy Files Phase II Electric Transportation Program in N.C.

Following six months of stakeholder input, Duke Energy recently filed an additional $56 million proposal of Phase II programs to continue the advancement of transportation electrification in North Carolina. The filing follows the November 2020 N.C.
