Warren Buffett’s NV Energy to Make Largest Clean Energy Investment in Nevada History

The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) has approved NV Energy’s Integrated Resource Plan, which will bring 1,001 MW of new renewable energy projects to the state, including, for the first time, 100 MW of battery storage capacity. Three of the projects will be located in northern Nevada and three will be located in southern Nevada. All projects are expected to be completed and serving customers by the end of 2021.

NREL Details Great Potential for Floating PV Systems

National Renewable Energy Laboratory researchers estimate that installing floating solar photovoltaics on the more than 24,000 man-made U.S. reservoirs could generate about 10 percent of the nation’s annual electricity production. Their findings, published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, reveal for the first time the potential for floating PV to produce electricity in the United States.
