RWE Commissions Innovative Agrivoltaics Demonstration Plant

With crops below and solar power above, RWE’s agrivoltaics (Agri-PV) plant in Germany has now started supplying green electricity into the grid after a construction period of just five months. The new demonstration plant was built on about seven hectares of recultivated land at the edge of the Garzweiler opencast mine, in North Rhine-Westphalia.

BLM analysis aims to optimise solar energy development throughout the West

The US Department of the Interior has announced an updated roadmap for solar energy development across the West, designed to expand solar energy production in more Western states and make renewable energy siting and permitting on America’s public lands more efficient. The BLM has also announced next steps on projects in Arizone, California and Nevada.

LONGi Co-Launches SDG Project “Light Up Africa” with Shenzhen Power Solutions

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, LONGi announced that it closed a partnership with Shenzhen Power Solution, a professional off-grid solar home system manufacturer. Together, they will launch the project “Light up Africa” and provide tailor-made solar products, including cells and modules, to off-grid communities in Africa to help alleviate poverty and improve education.

NineDot Energy Raises $225 Million in Equity Financing 

NineDot Energy, a developer of community-scale battery energy storage systems in the New York City metropolitan area, has secured an additional $225 million equity capital commitment from Manulife Investment Management as well as Carlyle , NineDot’s existing institutional equity investor.
