Avangrid and Amazon Expand U.S. Partnership with 98.4 MW Wind Project in Oregon

Avangrid, a member of the Iberdrola Group, thas signed a new power purchase agreement with Amazon to source renewable energy from an Avangrid wind farm located in Gilliam County, Oregon. The Amazon Wind Farm Oregon – Leaning Juniper IIA will have a capacity of 98.4 MW.

USFR to build state-of-the-art offshore wind facility

US Forged Rings has announced a $700 million investment in the US offshore wind industry to construct a state-of-the-art tower fabrication facility and a steel forging plant. The US-based company will use these two facilities to service the growing domestic offshore wind market,  alleviating bottlenecks for a market with goals of deploying 30 GW by 2030 and 110 GW by 2050.

The majority of U.S. coastal county residents support offshore wind development, according to a new poll released Feb. 7 by Climate Nexus and Turn Forward. Majorities say offshore wind is good for U.S. energy independence, energy reliability, jobs, and the economy. The poll sampled residents along the East, West, and Gulf coasts of the U.S.

Atlas Copco Provides Power Supply for Installation of World

Atlas Copco has supplied a QES 60 power generator for the successful installation of the world's first 16-megawatt offshore wind turbine, in southeast China's Fujian Province. Atlas Copco's partner in the region, Chengdu Shiwei Technology Corporation, delivered this QES power generator to provide the critical power supply needed for the spreader to install the three large turbine blades.
