Kitepower Secures Permit for Remote Monitoring of Hawk and Falcon Systems

Kitepower, the Dutch startup specializing in sustainable energy generation using kites, has been granted a permit by the Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) to conduct 'Beyond Visual Line of Sight' (BVLOS) flights. This marks a significant milestone for Kitepower in the development and commercialization of its technology.

A seasonal thermal energy storage will be built by Vantaa Energy in Vantaa, which is Finland's fourth largest city neighboring the capital of Helsinki. When completed, the seasonal energy storage facility will be the largest in the world by all standards. The operating principle of the seasonal thermal energy storage, called Varanto, is to store heat in underground caverns so that it can be used to heat buildings via the district heating network whenever it is needed.
