In onshore wind, they’re one of the most important countries on the continent with 27 GW of installed capacity. And their Offshore Wind Roadmap aims to build up to 3 GW of floating wind by 2030. Today the industry employs 28,000 people in Spain and adds €3bn to its GDP. But their ambitions for wind continue to grow, and wind is at the heart of their long-term energy strategy.
And Bilbao is the jewel in Spain’s renewable crown
It’s the headquarters for two of Europe’s leading renewable energy leaders. Meanwhile the Basque Country aims to become a major offshore energy hub in the years ahead.
