The Renewable Energy site (which includes the English-language www.renewableenergymagazine.com and the Spanish-language, www.energias-renovables.com) exceeded 100,000 unique visitors three times in 2012, but the arrival of 2013 has been accompanied by spectacular growth.
In January 2013 we recorded 125,747 unique visitors, 191,640 visits and 385,010 page views. The number of unique visitors -- the equivalent of different readers -- that connect to our website during a specific month was 80,268 in January 2012.
The ability to access content from our print Spanish-language version on the the web via a free digital portal, and the contribution of international traffic generated by the English language, REM, largely explain this surge of visits.
Also playing a critical role has been the growth in the number of followers who've joined us via social networks. Together our combined platforms have more than 30,000 followers on Twitter, and an additional 10,000 followers on Facebook.
The number of subscribers receiving our various e-mail newsletters in Spanish exceeds 60,000 and 15,000 in English. Both our English- and Spanish-language publications offer four different newsletters, including fortnightly publications highly news in the wind, solar and bio-energy sectors, and a weekly roundup of general renewable energy news.
Meanwhile "America," a third platform, serves a weekly newsletter in Spanish.
