Hypervolt partners with Fifth Gear to help reach the UK’s nearly one million EV owners

EV charging company Hypervolt has announced its sponsorship of Fifth Gear’s YouTube channel in order to champion its EV charging technology to the UK’s growing number of Electric Vehicle owners, which now stands close to one million.

Fifth Gear began life on Channel 5 in 2002, produced by North One. It established a presence on YouTube in 2007, offering exclusive content not seen in the TV shows and the best moments from the show’s archives, helping it gain nearly one million subscribers with a global audience of car fans.

However, as the automotive landscape continues its shift towards Electric Vehicles, Fifth Gear has followed suit to produce much more EV-related content, with recent features testing the latest EVs in engaging and informative ways. Recent examples include reviewing one of Kia’s latest EV offerings, the EV6, on one of the longest roads in Norway and testing whether the Hyundai Ioniq 5’s range could cope with Scotland’s iconic North Coast 500 route.

This collaboration allows Hypervolt, one of the UK's leading EV infrastructure manufacturers and operators, to showcase its unique technology alongside Fifth Gear’s growing portfolio of EV-related content. The sponsorship will start with a dedicated advertorial featuring Fifth Gear’s Grace Webb showcasing Hypervolt's latest state-of-the-art Home 3 Pro charger, the ease of its installation and an in-depth insight into the benefits it provides EV owners. Following this video, exclusive interstitials promoting the charger will sit in Fifth Gear’s upcoming EV-related reviews and features.

Should all Hypervolt units be at full output, they would contribute an impressive c. 0.3 percent of the UK’s daily average energy usage. Hypervolt recognises the importance of connecting with the diverse and passionate audience Fifth Gear holds, and grow that figure.

“We are immensely proud to have sustainably powered the EV revolutions of tens of thousands of drivers since 2021” said David Woodford, Head of Partnerships at Hypervolt. “However, we live in a time where misinformation around decarbonisation is pervasive and is intensifying. Team Hypervolt are therefore delighted to be aligning with a stalwart of the British motoring press, a hugely credible partner who shares our commitment to becoming the go-to source for trustworthy and digestible information on all things EV.

The partnership starts on Fifth Gear’s YouTube channel on Friday, 19th January, with the launch of an advertorial produced by the team at North One and will continue across Fifth Gear’s upcoming EV-related content in the coming weeks and months.
