The revolutionary all-electric Jaguar I-Pace has been named as the BBC TopGear Magazine EV of the Year, having established its reputation as a cutting-edge zero emissions performance SUV that has already been named German Car of the Year, Sunday Times Car of the Year and T3’s Best Car of 2018.

The I-Pace has a range of 292 miles and acceleration from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds. It has been designed and engineered to take full advantage of its smart electric powertrain and maximise the potential this brings to the vehicle. It has two Jaguar-designed electric motors placed at each axle, producing a combined output of 400PS and 696Nm and is able to achieve a 0-80 percent battery charge in 85-minutes using DC charging (50kW), while home charging with an approved Jaguar AC wall box (7kW) will achieve the same state of charge in just over ten hours – ideal for the overnight charging used by the majority of buyers.
“As Jaguar’s first ever electric vehicle, the I-Pace was a completely blank canvas” said Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Land Rover UK MD. “Our engineers were tasked with creating an electric vehicle without compromise; it would be quick, stylish, luxurious, exhilarating to drive, fast to charge, spacious and easy to use every day. The result has even surpassed our ambitions, and I’m pleased to see I-Pace pick up another award from one of the most respected media outlets in the world.”
I-Pace’s innovations and cutting-edge engineering have secured it 17 major awards wins since its introduction, including German Car of the Year, Scottish Car of the Year, Sunday Times Car of the Year, Auto Express New Car of the Year and Autocar’s Game Changer title. The vehicle calculates range using the most accurate system Jaguar has ever produced, taking into account route topography, climate conditions and driver inputs. It is also Jaguar’s first vehicle to include the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, capable of over-the-air software updates, and uses artificial intelligence to adapt to a driver’s personal preferences, ensuring driving and infotainment settings are matched to each individual using the car.
The Jaguar I-PACE is available to order now, priced from £59,995 (including government incentives).
