With the project, the installed capacity of the plant will increase from 1.8 MW to 11.75 MW, a 6.5-fold increase in generation power. The works are expected to be completed in December 2030.
The investment expands Âmbar’s generation capacity in Santa Catarina and reinforces the company’s presence in the South Region, where it maintains power generation operations in Santa Catarina, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul.
In Santa Catarina, Âmbar has four plants. In addition to the Salto do Passo Velho SHP, the portfolio includes the Lages Thermoelectric Power Plant, powered by biomass, with an installed capacity of 28 MW; the Salto Voltão SHP, with 8.2 MW; and the Paraíso SHP, with 1 MW.
The company’s presence in the South Region also includes the Araucária Gas Power Plant, in Paraná, with a capacity of 484 MW, and the thermoelectric plants of Uruguaiana, in Rio Grande do Sul, with 640 MW, and Candiota, also in the state, with 350 MW.
The project expands Âmbar’s generation capacity in Santa Catarina and strengthens the company’s presence in the South Region, which brings together assets from different sources of energy generation.
