The order was placed through the Jacksonville state contract and is supported by a combination of local funding and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding, including Low or No Emission (Low-No) Program and Bus and Bus Facilities (BBF) Program funds. The buses form a part of New Flyer’s Q2 2026 firm backlog and will be delivered between the first and fourth quarters of 2028 and will replace aging buses in BCT’s fleet.
Serving Broward County, Florida, BCT is one of the largest public transportation providers in the state, operating fixed-route, express, community shuttle, and paratransit services across approximately 410 square miles. The system connects riders throughout Broward County and to neighboring Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties, with annual fixed-route ridership of more than 23.8 million passenger trips. Broward County is home to nearly two million residents and includes communities such as Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Coral Springs, Pembroke Pines, and Pompano Beach.
“Transit agencies continue to make strategic investments in fleet replacement to support their long-term service objectives,” said Chris Stoddart, President, North American Bus and Coach, NFI. “We appreciate Broward County Transit’s continued confidence in New Flyer and look forward to delivering buses that will support the agency’s fleet renewal program and serve communities across Broward County for years to come.”
New Flyer has partnered with transit agencies across North America for more than 95 years, delivering buses designed to meet a wide range of operating requirements while supporting accessible and efficient public transportation.
