Monta and Electric Car Chargers UK team up to increase EV charge point accessibility

Electric vehicle (EV) charging app, Monta, and charge point installers Electric Car Chargers UK (ECC UK) have announced a new partnership to ease the confusion and hassle of installing and using EV charge points.

Using the Monta software, ECC UK will be able to quickly add, manage, and provide charge points for businesses, organisations, and local councils, as well as provide 24/7 customer support to EV charge point owners and drivers.

ECC UK will also gain full visibility into the charge point network for better performance, maintenance and reliability. This increased visibility will allow businesses and drivers to see which charge points are currently in use and which ones are available to charge, getting them back on the road as quickly as possible.

“Connecting our software with the hardware provided by ECC UK will increase the amount of available charge points for EV drivers while taking away a lot of the hassle” said Alok Dubey, UK Country Manager at Monta. “There are more than 20 different charge point manufacturers in the UK right now, many of which have their own subscription services, app, or connection point in order for vehicles to begin charging. By teaming up with ECC, we believe we can provide more organisations with not just more charge points but smarter ones - the benefits of which can then be passed on to EV drivers and put them back on the road as quickly and easily as possible.”

Darren Manton, EV Charging Consultant at ECC UK, added that working with Monta allows ECC UK to make greater headway in the EV charging market and provide more and improved charge points and that part of the problem in the UK right now is that there are a lot of charge point manufacturers that require different subscriptions, apps, and connection points in order to get vehicles running again.

“As ECC and Monta both work with multiple manufacturers and charge point installers, we felt it was the perfect opportunity to come together to free up the UK’s charging network and provide better infrastructure for businesses, local councils, and EV drivers” Mr Manton said.

Launched in 2018, ECC UK is a specialist EV charging company helping accelerate the UK’s drive towards a greener, more sustainable future. The organisation provides electric vehicle charging provisions for local authorities, businesses, and the public across the country.

Available on iOS, Android and as a web-based app, Monta connects business owners with charging point installers to help power electric vehicles. EV owners can freely use the app to find charging points near them as well as track energy consumption, usage, and costs.

The app recently launched new smart queue features, allowing EV drivers to view and reserve charge points or join a virtual queueing system to notify them when a spot is available.
