The new members join EVUK's existing alliance of carmakers, charging operators, energy providers and EV specialists, and the expansion comes at a pivotal moment for the sector. Data from Carwow shows that used EV enquiries were up 30 percent in April compared with February and March, and EVUK is reporting record levels of consumer enquiries through its channels. The latest data from New AutoMotive also shows that UK BEVs accounted for 27 percent of all new car registrations in May – one of the strongest months on record.

EVUK's broadened coalition has been built to meet the accelerating public appetite for the switch to EVs in the face of continued, widespread, misinformation in parts of the media, which requires impartial, accurate and accessible driver guidance, the need for which has never been greater.

“Welcoming six exceptional new partners is a huge moment for EVUK and for the wider industry” said

Tanya Sinclair, CEO, Electric Vehicles UK. “Each bring something distinctive – from public charging at scale, to home energy expertise, to independent servicing know-how, to one of the most trusted names in vehicle manufacturing. Together with our existing partners, we are bigger, broader and better-equipped than ever to support UK drivers considering the switch to electric. And we need to be. Drivers want straight answers about EVs: on cost, on charging, on real-world range, on what's right for their lives. Cutting through the noise with impartial, trustworthy guidance is exactly what EVUK exists to do.”

EVUK's expanded alliance is the cornerstone of its #CheaperBetterBatteryElectric campaign, a comprehensive, industry-funded programme to give consumers confidence, support test-drive initiatives, and communicate the full economic, technological and environmental benefits of battery EVs.
