The research shows that Lincolnshire is the most ideal place to take your EV car in the UK. 5.5% of holiday accommodation in the region has EV charging availability.

Lincolnshire is home to holiday destinations such as Skegness and Cleethorpes, making it a hub for family resort holidays. There are many stately homes, such as Belvoir Castle and Doddington Hall, making it the perfect destination for all ages. The historic location where Sir Isaac Newton had his gravity revelation, Woolsthorpe Manor, is in Grantham, a borough of Lincolnshire.

West Sussex places second on the list of the best holiday hotspots with EV charging facilities. 5.2% of holiday accommodation in West Sussex has EV charging sockets installed. Known for its picturesque landscapes and beautiful beaches, West Sussex is home to such towns as Chichester and Bognor Regis. Many historic homes can also be found in the area, such as Arundel Castle and Petworth House.

Third on the list of best places for EV charging is Surrey, with 5.2% of the holiday accommodation in the region being fitted with EV charging facilities. Surrey is an excellent destination for the whole family, thrill-seekers can enjoy the roller coasters at Thorpe Park, while chill seekers can tour the RHS Garden Wisley.

Derbyshire and Somerset take fourth and fifth spots, with 4.6% of holiday accommodation being fitted with EV charging capabilities. Derbyshire is home to such towns as Matlock and Buxton. Many historic homes can also be found in the area, such as Chatsworth House and Hardwick Hall.

Somerset is home to towns such as Bath and Weston-Super-Mare. The region has a rich history; some attractions of note include the roman baths, Weston-Super-Mare beach and the historical city of Bath.

As a region, Gwynedd had the lowest percentage of EV charging options, with only 2.3% of holiday accommodations offering EV charging. Norfolk and Pembrokeshire came in second and third to last place, with only 2.7% and 2.9% of holiday accommodation being fitted with EV charging facilities.

The location with the fourth-worst EV charging facilities is Cornwall, with a total of 3.0%. With picturesque beaches and surfing hotspots, such as the town of Padstow, it may come as a shock that Cornwall ranked so low on the list. The fifth worst location is the Highlands, with only 3.1% of holiday accommodation being fitted with an EV charger.

The YESSS Electrical team found that Country Homes and Resorts have the highest number of EV chargers, with 14.4% of Resorts and 13.7% of Country Homes having charging ports across the UK. In comparison, just 4.9% of Bed and Breakfasts and 1.8% of Holiday Homes are equipped with EV chargers.

The accommodation with the fewest charger installations are luxury tents, with just 1.1% featuring EV chargers, followed by villas with 1.5%, and holiday homes with 1.8%.

Mike Gadd, Head of EV & Energy at YESSS Electrical said, "The rise in popularity of EVs is seeing a need for charging facilities to be increased. When choosing where to go on your next staycation, choosing somewhere with a high volume of EV charging available will become increasingly important.

"With resorts being a popular family-friendly option, it is no wonder that these types of accommodation are already ahead of the curve when it comes to installing EV chargers. Smaller accommodation businesses such as B&B's and Holiday Homes are slower on the uptake. Still, with the new government-backed Workplace Charging Scheme, or WCS, these areas are sure to improve over the coming years."
