On 25th November, GoodWe celebrated its 15th anniversary, under the theme of “Connected by Light, Creating Beyond Limits” with a ceremony and summit at its headquarters in Suzhou, China, gathering employees, partners, and industry leaders to honour the company’s journey of innovation and resilience.

The day featured speeches and presentations, roundtable discussions, and an anniversary party, reflecting on GoodWe’s role in the solar industry over the past decade and a half. At the same time, it marked a new stage in the company’s strategy for Smart Energy Integration of Generation–Grid–Load–Storage–Intelligence, showcasing its progress and vision for the years ahead.

“Powered by innovation, strengthened by our people, and trusted by our partners” said Daniel Huang, Founder and CEO of GoodWe, summarising the driving forces behind the company’s growth over the years. “From its early beginnings as an inverter manufacturer, GoodWe has evolved into a comprehensive smart energy solutions provider with more than 6,000 employees worldwide.”

A global energy evolution is underway. The integration of smart energy, also known as “generation – grid – load – storage – intelligence” is the core architecture of the future power system that Huang introduced to the audience during the main presentation.

After its foundation in 2010, GoodWe secured a leading position in the solar and storage market during its first decade. In 2020, the company entered a new phase to expand its portfolio to a full range of smart energy solutions, including inverter, batteries, All-in-One Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Building-Integrated PV (BIPV), heat pumps, and the platforms for smart energy management.

“When we first defined our direction five years ago when GoodWe went public, our goal was clear, to connect every energy element through intelligence” added Mr Huang. “That is what we call now a new power system. Intelligence is the newest and most transformative element in GoodWe’s strategy, which enables systems to optimise and adapt, driving efficiency, resilience, and sustainability across both developed and emerging energy markets.”

A highlight during the day was a roundtable discussion titled “Smart Energy Integration in Practice: Diversity and Convergence across Global Markets.”

With participants from different regions, the discussion examined how the five elements of GoodWe’s strategy “Generation, Grid, Load, Storage, and Intelligence” interact under different policies, infrastructure, and customer conditions across the globe. Among the participant of the discussion was Anees Arif, CEO of ZNC Solar from Pakistan, Vincent Maposa, CEO of Wetility from South Africa and Franz-Josef Feilmeier, CEO of Fenecon from Germany. While each region follows its own path, all participants agreed on a shared direction: the convergence toward digitalised, integrated, and user-centric energy systems.

GoodWe also shared a number of successful customer stories centered around this strategy, including virtual power plants (VPPs), dynamic pricing applications, and off-grid commercial storage projects. These examples showcase how smart energy integration delivers tangible value to users worldwide.

Guests toured GoodWe’s Global Headquarters, a demonstration of how GoodWe’s integrated solutions, from hybrid and C&I storage systems to BIPV, heat pumps, and the SEMS platform, can be applied in a building to enable it not only to consume but also to produce energy, a concept Huang referred to in his speech as “energy prosumers.”

“Building the ecosystem for energy prosumers is our next chapter” he said. “In the near future, every household, factory, community, and even city will become an energy prosumer, producing, consuming, and sharing energy intelligently.”
