The financing package will enable the construction and development of the site through to operations and continues NORD/LB’s track record in supporting the expansion of Italy’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Aussa Corno solar park is strategically located in San Giorgio di Nogaro, Friuli Venezia Giulia, northern Italy, within the Aussa Corno industrial hub. The project is set to be one of the largest solar parks in the region and is expected to produce 115,783MWh a year once construction is complete, scheduled for Q2 2028.
“We’re pleased to be continuing our collaboration with MSE and Envalue through our financing of their latest solar project in Italy” said Cécile Luciano, Director of Structured Finance Energy Origination Europe at NORD/LB. “With a predicted capacity of 97.5MWp, Aussa Corno solar park will play a key role in decarbonising Italy’s power grid. At NORD/LB, we remain focused on deploying our project financing expertise to support Europe’s net zero and energy security objectives.”
The project has secured a 20-year Contract for Difference (CfD) under the Italian FER X scheme, ensuring the long-term financial stability and revenue certainty needed to carry the project forward.
The transaction represents the second Italian solar deal that NORD/LB has closed with MSE and Envalue and marks another key milestone as the bank continues to utilise its project financing capabilities to support the clean energy transition across Italy and Europe.
“After seven years of development, we are delighted to start construction of the Aussa Corno solar park, and grateful to NORD/LB, whose long-term financing provides the foundation for it” added Pauli Malsiner, Chairman of the Board, Parco Solare Friulano 1 S.r.l. “With nearly 100 MWp, it is one of the largest solar parks in northern Italy, alongside our other projects in Santa Maria la Longa and Pavia di Udine, also located in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Located within the Aussa Corno industrial hub, it will generate renewable electricity close to where it is consumed, supporting the region’s energy-intensive industries and strengthening their long-term competitiveness.
