The projects include the Pniewnik 1 (38 MW) and Pniewnik 2 (42 MW) BESS facilities in the Mazovia region, as well as the Zushi BESS project (80 MW) in the Lower Silesia region.
These systems store electrical energy as chemical energy during periods of low demand and discharge it when required, such as during peak consumption or when renewable energy generation is low.
Iberdrola is advancing efficient energy storage technologies in Poland as a key enabler of electrification. The company’s project portfolio in the country currently totals 940 MW and includes a dozen BESS projects across various regions.
