The agreement "aims to promote the installation of equipment, and includes advisory services and maintenance of facilities, in order to create a quality benchmark in the development of solar thermal energy markets in Spain", said Gas Natural in a press release.

Both companies are committed to provide their experience to developers and builders in order to meet hot water production needs within the guidelines established by the new building legislation (CTE).

According to Gas Natural, “the solar-gas pair is the most efficient and environmentally conscious choice" to meet the CTE's requirements. Even though gas is a fossil and finite source, the Barcelona-based company believes so of natural gas as it is the fossil fuel with lowest carbon emissions and because it allows a better individual usage thus being more economical than other fossil choices as well.

The agreement between both firms was sealed last week in Construmat, an energy fair, where Gas Natural presented gnSolar, its new solar line, aimed to promoting this type of solar-gas facilities and their maintenance.
