Vestas Joins RE100

Denmark’s wind energy company Vestas has joined RE100, a group of global companies dedicated to increasing demand for renewable energy.
Vestas Joins RE100

Led by The Climate Group in partnership with CDP, RE100 is a global, collaborative initiative of businesses committed to using 100 per cent renewable electricity in order to accelerate the transformation of the global energy market and aid the transition toward a net-zero emissions economy.

By joining RE100 Vestas has reaffirmed its commitment to renewable energy. In addition to designing, manufacturing and managing products and solutions that generate clean energy, Vestas is reducing the environmental impact of its own operations.

Working with RE100 will provide the company with an opportunity to support the leadership, engagement and advocacy efforts to develop a policy framework for PPAs that enable more renewables in the energy mix.

Vestas is already using 100 per cent renewable electricity across its own operations to create wind power infrastructure,” says Sam Kimmins, Head of RE100, The Climate Group. “Now the company is furthering that leadership by joining RE100, and calling for important policy changes that will enable more companies to plug into renewables too.”
