Vestas to supply turbines for 49.3 MW project in China

Vestas, a global leader in wind energy, has received an order for 49.3 MW in wind turbine capacity from Chongli Construction Investment Huashi Wind Power Company Ltd. The order consists of both V52-850 kW and V60-850 kW wind turbines, which will be installed at Jiaochekou wind farm in Chongli County, Hebei province, (China).

Vestas installed China’s first wind turbines in Shandong in 1986, and has, as of 30 June 2010, installed more than 2,100 MW of clean energy across thirteen provinces in China.

The new order once again pairs old corporate friends. Chongli Construction Investment Huashi Wind Power Company ordered its first-ever wind turbines from Vestas back in 2008.

“Our customer has chosen Vestas for this project because of our team’s strong service mind, unique micro-sitting capabilities, and problem-solving approach. Both companies commit to building a long-term win-win strategic partnership,” said Jens Tommerup, President of Vestas China. “On top of our high quality products, our service and technology have left a good impression with our customer.”

Chongli Construction Investment Huashi Wind Power Company Ltd. is one of the wind energy subsidiaries of Hebei Construction Investment New Energy Company which is an influential company in the Hebei province.

With this new order, the accumulated wind energy capacity signed between the parties will amount to approximately 100 MW.

The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution as well as a service and maintenance agreement. The turbines are scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2011.
