GMR Group to add 1,000 MW of hydro power throughout India and Nepal

Construction is slated to start next year and will see a 140 mw hydro plant in Uttaranchal, which will be increased to 300 mw. Additional opportunities have been identified for projects of 654 mw in Nepal and 200 mw in Himachal Pradesh.

According to the GMR Group, there is already a detailed project report and they have also received Stage-I environmental clearance from the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests of the government of India.

State of the art technology will also be employed on the projects.
