Atlantic Wind & Solar to proceed with Canadian utility-scale projects

Atlantic Wind & Solar along with its wholly-owned Ontario subsidiary, Atlantic Solar Inc, have received Notice To Proceed (NTP) letters on three utility-scale rooftop projects located in the Greater Toronto area.

The projects are expected to generate around 12.3 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity over the next twenty years with the energy sold to the Ontario Power Authority under the province’s Feed-in Tariff at rates of $.635/kWh for one project and $0.713/kWh for the other two. The approval follows the successful completion of technical connection studies and reports as well as the Domestic Content Plan and the supply of proof of financing arrangements.

A construction commencement date is expected shortly and additional NTP’s should be received by the company over the next few weeks. The company’s management will be announcing updates on construction as the project progresses as well as news concerning the development of the company’s renewable energy pipelines in Ontario and abroad.
