The Glorit project will deliver approximately 171MWp of solar generation capacity, helping to bring new renewable energy into New Zealand’s electricity grid. The consented project is located on the Kaipara Coast and is expected to generate enough electricity to power the equivalent to around 40,000 homes annually. The design and construction will also incorporate flexibility for future energy storage and firming capability, contributing to New Zealand’s renewable energy portfolio diversification.
INTEC will lead the full EPC scope for the project, working in partnership with COMPLANT for Lightsource bp and Contact Energy. The full project scope will also include HV works and O&M management upon completion. Construction is now scheduled to commence, with completion expected in the second half of 2028. The project will create employment opportunities during construction, support regional businesses through supply chain partnerships, and contribute additional renewable electricity to New Zealand’s grid.
