PhonoSolar enjoying significant penetration into Czech market, published report says

Photovoltaic panels made by PhonoSolar, the Appenzell (Switzerland) based renewable energy firm, are currently being used in three of the 10 largest solar power plants in the Czech Republic.

According to a report in Hospodářské noviny, one of the largest daily newspapers in the Czech Republic, PhonoSolar’s panels can be found in the nation’s first, fourth and seventh largest photovoltaic plants.

One of the power plants using the PhonoSolar panels is the PVP Vepřek in the Mělník Region – which besides being the largest photovoltaic power plant in the Czech Republic is also the ninth largest PVP in the world

The plant, owned by Decci a.s., held its ceremonial opening in September of 2010 and generates an 35 MWp output, enough to power between 8,000 and 10,000 homes when operating at full capacity.

Decci has also turned to PhonoSolar panels in its development of the solar power plant Smiřice near Hradec Králové, which with its 6 MWp output places seventh on the list.

PhonoSolar products were also utilized in the development of the fourth largest power plant, the PVP Tuchlovice. The solar power plant generates an output of 7.8 MWp and it is owned by Škoda Investment.
