Proinso has added 5MW to the first on-grid solar PV project on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands thereby establishing a total of 55MW installed in India by the company so far. The PV materials were delivered to the islands through Cirus Solar, Proinso’s strategic partner for the Indian market.
At present there are 96 qualified Indian installers in Proinso’s international network.
“It cements our position in the Indian solar PV market” a spokesman for the company said. “Since we started operating in India we’ve delivered more than 55MW in PV materials to different projects. Setting up an office in Mumbai last year, we’ve strengthened our business strategy in the country. We’re confident in the expansion of our business opportunities in the country.”
The company has signed an agreement to distribute SMA solar PV products including Sunny Central inverters which are developed for use in large PV plants. The Port Blair installation incorporates a Sunny Central SC800 CP XT inverter which incorporates string monitoring, modular design and the ability to feed into the medium-voltage power grid. They are also easy to install and have peak efficiencies greater than 98 percent thereby making them one of the most efficient central inverters on the market.
