Located on the ground floor of the agency's headquarters in Brasília, the museum's launch and first year of operation represent an investment of approximately 5.3 million reais by Neoenergia Brasília, through its Energy Efficiency Program, regulated by the regulatory agency.
The result of a Technical Cooperation Agreement between the company and the government institution, this cultural and educational complex has been designed to bring the world of electricity closer to the public. It is expected that the center will attract more than 28,000 visitors annually, in addition to training some 13,000 participants per year in its "Maker Space," an area dedicated to robotics, active learning methodologies, and hands-on learning.
The primary target audience will be students and teachers from public and private education systems, as well as researchers. However, the general public can also enjoy the facilities with prior reservation. Visits will be conducted in organized groups to ensure participants fully benefit from the guided activities.
“This museum represents a legacy for society and reinforces Neoenergia’s purpose of transforming knowledge into real progress,” emphasizes Solange Ribeiro, Vice President of Neoenergia.
“Beyond a visitor center, we create opportunities for children, young people, and educators to understand, in practice, the importance of sustainability. It is an initiative that expands our direct impact on the community,” she adds.
Interactive experience and innovation
The collection features 20 dynamic experiments that explore concepts in physics, magnetism, optics, and the historical evolution of the electrical sector, as well as panels on renewable energy sources and environmental preservation. Its key differentiator lies in its approach to stimulating critical thinking in young people through hands-on experimentation.
For Neoenergia, the completion of this project reflects the company's long-term commitment to the socio-environmental development of the regions in which it operates. By investing in the education of new generations, the company seeks to foster a culture of responsible consumption and the preservation of natural resources.
“Today we take the first step on this path: we sow the seeds of education. Tomorrow, when a student discovers how a renewable energy source works, when a teacher takes what they’ve seen here back to the classroom, we will take the second step: we will transform people. And in a few years, when those people are deciding how to generate, consume, and manage energy in Brazil, we will have taken the definitive step: we will change the world.
"The Brazilian electricity sector is doing its part. Aneel, on its 30th anniversary, has decided to begin this new decade with its doors open, listening, teaching, and learning. Because we believe that every student who enters this museum can be the person who transforms the world tomorrow,” declared Sandoval Feitosa, CEO of Aneel.
