With the decision to establish its first regional offices in Europe’s leading PV markets, PV Cycle – the pan-European take-back and recycling scheme for all photovoltaic (PV) technologies – took an important step forward in enhancing its national presence in these countries and ability to respond to regional circumstances.
“By bringing our collection and recycling services closer to the market, we want to foster existing partnerships, encourage new ones and proactively contribute to national, regional and local developments”, outlines Wilfried Taetow, President of PV Cycle.
“This regionalization process is a multi-level project. In conjunction with the plan to establish local presences, PV Cycle will continue contributing to the development of viable, national WEEE laws and processes”, explained Jan Clyncke, Managing Director at PV Cycle. “The PV Cycle service and operations will remain pan-European but we want to create a strong national content in a pan-European context”.
Today, PV Cycle operates in the 27 EU Member States and the EFTA countries. Since start of its operations in 2010, the leading take-back and recycling scheme for discarded PV panels collected more than 5,000 tonnes under its umbrella, more than half of it coming from Germany and Italy alone. Representing approximately 90% of the European PV market, PV Cycle is the trusted partner of hundreds of European and international companies.
