Sinosol connects 2.7 MW project in Engstingen, Germany to the Grid

Sinosol AG, an internationally active provider of photovoltaic systems and developer of turnkey solar parks, has grid-connected a 2.7 MWp solar power plant in Engstingen-Haid (Germany). The project is the largest solar park in Reutlingen County.

Approximately 12,400 modules from the Chinese-manufacturer Yingli Solar and central inverters from SMA Solar Technology AG have been used to build the €7 million ($9.3 million) PV park, which is located on a brown field that was formerly used by the army as a practice shooting range.

“The project is successful proof for an ecologically expedient use of a brown field area,” said Raphael Krause, who handles finance, M&A and investor relations for and Sinosol AG. “We hope that PV component prices in 2011 will allow further realization of PV power plants on brown fields in Germany for our institutional investors.”

The project was begun in August 2007. Since that time, “the conversion has worked exceptionally well in the Haid,” said Klaus-Peter Kleiner, Mayor of Engstingen and head of the Engstingen-Haid industry park.

Sinosol AG is active in Europe and Asia with subsidiaries in Germany, Italy, and China.
