REpower signs contract for 150 MW wind project in US

Germany’s REpower Systems will supply 73 turbines for a 150 MW wind farm project currently under development in the US state of Oklahoma. Under the terms of the contract, deelivery and installation of the turbines is scheduled for the second half of 2012.

Each of the turbines has a rated capacity of 2.05 MW and a rotor diameter of 92 meters and a hub height of 80 meters.

Due to the climatic conditions in Oklahoma, the plants will equipped with a hot climate Option (HCO), which enables operation in the state’s dry, hot summer months.

"We are pleased to announce our most second-largest U.S. wind project and to deliver our reliable MM92 plants in REpower's first wind farm in the central southern United States,” said Andreas Nauen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of REpower Systems SE.

“I would also like to thank you on behalf of the team REpower by Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation for their support during the negotiation process," Nauen said.
