Middlesbrough-based Eemits Communications offers two-way communication technology for businesses from its headquarters at Riverside Park.

Following a SeAH Wind supplier event, the company has teamed up with Wilson James to provide added site security on the huge construction site at South Bank using the latest in two-way radio technology.

The company also works with GE Renewables at the Able Port, in Seaton Carew, as part of efforts at the Dogger Bank Wind Farm project.

Established in 1986, Eemits Communications has supplied two-way radios to national and international businesses for almost four decades.

Martin Corney, Teesworks CEO, said, “It’s been good to see work at SeAH Wind’s facility taking shape with jobs created for hundreds of Teessiders during its construction.

“It’s even more pleasing to see an established local firm in Eemits Communications benefitting from what we’re all doing at Teesworks. It goes to show the depth of expertise we have on Teesside.

“We want as many good local firms as possible involved in our wider vision for the site.”

Craig Matthews, Managing Director of Eemits Communications, said, “As a local telecommunications provider, we’ve seen the region transition over the years from heavy industry to renewable energy.

“The investment and projects being brought to Teesworks is not only helping Teesside lead the way in renewables, but it’s allowing businesses like ours to evolve, grow, and create new jobs for local people.

“We currently work across the energy mix on a national basis, so it’s fantastic that we’ve been able to implement our expertise, and deliver reliable two-way communication, on a site that will become pivotal for the area once complete.”

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said, “Eemits Communications are a great example of a company with pedigree benefitting from Teesworks and ensuring good, well-paid jobs are created for local people.

“To see a local firm visit a supplier event, find an opportunity, and be given the opportunity to grasp it is exactly what we want to do with global companies on site and our Joint Venture partners.

“With Net Zero Teesside Power and thousands of jobs to come, we want to see more companies in supply chains across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool involved and thriving on the back of Teesworks’ success.”

Teesside is a built-up area around the River Tees in North East England, split between County Durham and North Yorkshire. The area contains the towns of Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham, Redcar, Thornaby-on-Tees, and Ingleby Barwick.
