“We take this award as motivation to further expand our worldwide expertise as a fully integrated biogas provider, to accelerate the energy transition, and, of course, to continue setting industry benchmarks as an innovation leader,” said Lars von Lehmden, managing director of EnviTec Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG and president of EnviTec Biogas USA Inc., upon receiving the award.
“Recovering and processing organic waste – such as dried poultry litter – at EnviTec Biogas’s facility in Güstrow, Germany’s largest integrated bio-LNG liquefaction plant, offers tremendous economic potential and is one of the most practical and efficient ways to realize the benefits of the circular economy,” said Matthew P. Tomich, president of Energy Vision, at the ceremony. Tomich was part of a U.S. delegation that visited biogas plants in Germany in February of this year.
The selection committee was impressed by the comprehensive, on-site utilization of all outputs from BioEnergie Park Güstrow. “Flagship projects like Güstrow can unlock new revenue streams, spur local investment, and dramatically reduce emissions,” he said.
EnviTec Biogas is only the second European company to be honored by Energy Vision. This marks the second award EnviTec has received in the United States. In 2014, Lawnhurst Energy, LLC – a 541 kW EnviTec biogas plant – received the “Biogas Industry Award” from the American Biogas Council (ABC).
