The company celebrated opening its 50th station in France in July and crossed the 50-station boundary in Belgium and Germany in December.
Fastned EV charging stations use a ‘Solar Tree’ canopy that is visible from the road. This design was nominated as a finalist at the 2025 DesignEuropa Awards and it is aimed at making the company’s charging stations visible, accessible and attractive.
Fastned’s first station opened in Palmpol, the Netherlands, in 2013. The company celebrated its 100th charging station in June 2019, with the 200th opening in Germany in May 2022 and the 300th location arriving in the Netherlands in January 2024. The company intends to open a network of 1000 fast charging stations across Europe by 2030.
“2025 was another record year for Fastned, and I'm extremely proud that we now have over 400 stations, all in premium A-locations and offering best-in-class charging, across nine countries - no small feat!” said Michiel Langezaal, Co-Founder and CEO of Fastned. “The future of European transport is electric, and Fastned is set to continue leading the transition as we look ahead for another huge year in 2026.”
