Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Ltd signs purchase agreements for 444 MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti hydro power plant project

The purchase agreement has been signed with Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh states for the project which is slated to finish by 2012. The power plant is a run of the river plant and will help to add power to a region in northern India which is lacking adequate power in it’s grid.

The three state electricity boards have all signed agreements in a short time span. Tehri Hydro Development Corporation already has a host of other projects going on or fully completed. There include joint ventures with state owned entities or governments. These include a projects such as Tehri PSP 4x250 MW - 1000 MW and Tehri HEP 4x250 MW - 1000 MW. The projects will bring a major power boast to northern India which has been lacking power resources. India has a whole has been suffering sporadic power outages over the past years.
