ZeroEmission Rome 2008: record results

The event focused on renewable energy, environmental sustainability, combating climate change and emissions trading, and it was a big success in terms of the number and quality of visitors, exhibition floor space covered, and attendance at the conferences.

ZeroEmission Rome 2008, the event focused on the planet's energy future, held from 1 to 4 October 2008 at the Rome exhibition center, achieved significant results: more than 18,000 visitors, with around 1,900 people attending the specialist program of conferences and workshops, featuring 332 speakers in 46 sessions.

The exhibition covered
25,000 square meters of floor space, almost three times the area of the previous year, divided into three halls: Air, Sun and Earth. ZeroEmission Rome 2008 also saw a highly international turnout: indeed around 30% of the more than 300 exhibitors were from foreign countries. These included Canada, China, South Korea, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, United States, Sweden and Switzerland.

The results achieved confirm that ZeroEmission Rome is an exceptional and rapidly growing event that perfectly reflects the dynamics and increasing strategic importance of the renewable energy sector
 - declared Marco Pinetti, director of ZeroEmission Rome. We are especially pleased with the satisfaction expressed by the exhibitors, who underlined not only the number, but also the high-caliber nature of the visitors at the show.

Also taking part in the event, among others, were Luigi Angeletti, secretary-general of the UIL (Italian Labour Union), Carlo Andrea Bollino, chairman of GSE (an electricity utility), Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, former Environment Minister, Gianni Silvestrini, scientific director of the Kyoto Club, and Chicco Testa.

Further information on the event is available at
www.zeroemission.eu and on ZeroEmission TV, the real-time Web TV channel with more than 1,200 unique visits per day, showing a series of interviews conducted during the exhibition.

Seven specialist events were also held as part of
