Designed with the environment in mind
The solar park has been constructed on a site with limited natural or agricultural value and was designed to assure landscape integration and the preservation of biodiversity
The PV solar park is made up of crystalline silicon modules, the most proven, durable and reliable photovoltaic technology available, while the power production efficiency of the Vinon-sur-Verdon park (measured per hectare) is 50% higher than with other technologies. Consequently, the surface area required for the installation is significantly reduced. Furthermore, the foundations, made up of metal screws (no concrete involved) will facilitate the decommissioning of the facility and its ultimate recycling, and facility is designed to be compatible with grazing and the cultivation of plants and species suited to the local biotope.
The Vinon-sur-Verdon solar park was subject to exhaustive environmental studies, followed up by a public enquiry and a structured dialogue with local residents and official bodies including the Var Chamber of Agriculture and the
The Solaire Durance joint venture plans to commence production at three other solar parks with a total capacity of 38 MW before the end of 2010.
